Marina Gradowitz (Director) (she/her) is so happy to be making her directing debut at the Space! She has previously directed a production of 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress at Bakersfield College and was Assistant Director for Anastasia at TES. She has also been recently seen in roles on the Space’s stage such as Oomba in Andy the Creator, Frieda in Carrie, and Lydia in Pride and Prejudice. When she’s not busy covering her gorgeous cast in radioactive goo, she’s working on her Bachelors in Accounting/Business Administration and serving as the Facilities Director at The Empty Space. She would like to thank her amazing production team for being the most supportive and creative group she could ask for, and she hopes that you enjoy the show!
Alex Mitts (Roeder) is happy to play on The Empty Space stage once again. In fact, you might even say he was glowing when he heard he’d be doing so. He would like to thank his director, Marina Gradowitz, for the opportunity to help bring her show to life. Some of Alex's favorite TES roles include Mr. Darcy (Pride & Prejudice), Drew (Rock of Ages), and Cliff Bradshaw (Cabaret).
Charlotte Smith (Grace) is so excited to be back on the Empty Space stage. Her past credits include Steel Magnolias (Shelby), Gruesome Playground Injuries (Kayleen Understudy) & Sweat (Tracey). When not onstage, she is working towards her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters Degree in Education. She would like to thank her friends and family for being the best supporters. Corissa Garcia (Kathryn) is thrilled to return to The Empty Space’s stage after a long hiatus. Some of her past shows at TES include Head Over Heels (Mopsa), American Idiot (Ensemble), and The Wedding Singer (Ensemble). She has also helped out off stage in productions at TES, including Luchadora, Carrie, and Peter and The Starcatcher. Outside of theatre, she teaches at a community school grades 6th-8th. She would like to extend her gratitude to her family, friends, and partner Gabrielle Bridges for their constant love and support.
Selah Gradowitz (Irene) is thrilled to back at The Empty Space! Her past roles include Lady Catherine (Pride & Prejudice), Ensemble (Rocky Horror) and Good Angel (Doctor Faustus) She is very proud of her sister Marina for her Empty Space directorial debut and loves her to infinity. She hopes you enjoy the show, especially the real life mold of her jaw.
Alex Singh (Tom/Martland/Court) is grateful to be taking the stage again at The Empty Space. He mostly recently performed at The Space as Derek in The Earth is Flat. He wants to thank his parents for always supporting him, and to Marina for giving him the opportunity to be part of such an amazing cast!
Ian Sharples (Berry/Flinn) is happy to return to the Empty Space stage. He most recently appeared as Mr. Fezziwig/Ensemble in A Christmas Carol. He previously played Justice Shallow in Merry Wives of Windsor at The Empty Space and Wagner in Doctor Faustus at the Stars Playhouse. Outside of theater he spends most of his time working as a sustainability consultant for affordable housing developments across California. He would like to thank his partner Kelsey Morrow for encouraging him to try new things.
Matthew Borton (Lee/Bailey) is excited to be back on stage after a brief hiatus. You may or may not have seen him as Thing or a puppeteer in some show or other. He would like to add that one should listen to women when they are sharing discomfort as it can be more than anyone thinks.
Jason Dollar (Markley/Von Sochocky) is making his Empty Space debut but he is no stranger to the Bakersfield stage. He just recently finished a 5 week run of Mary Poppins as both cast and crew at the Ovation Theatre. His more notable performances include Major Metcalf in The Mousetrap at Bakersfield Community Theatre; Lou Adler in Beautiful The Carol King Musical and Jaxton in The Thanksgiving Play, both at the Ovation Theater; General Mackenzie in And Then There Were None at Stars Playhouse; and Mr Green in CLUE at the Jewel Box Theatre. Jason has been featured on such shows as Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Monk, Cold Case, Big Love and That's So Raven to name a few. Jason hopes this year to kickstart his career as a voice actor. He would like to dedicate his performance to his three wonderful children Guinivere, David and Kaytlynn.
Keira (Wiley/Madame Curie) is so honored and thrilled to be apart of this amazing project and join another incredible Empty Space production. She was most recently seen as Agatha in The Children's Hour at BCT, stage manager for Andy, The Creator at The Empty Space, and Loyal Chorus Member in Heavens Favorite Murderess at the Edinburgh and Hollywood Fringe Festivals. Keira loves being able to share this part of their life with their child EJ who is also part of the theatre community and is so grateful to the cast and crew that bring this powerful piece to life.
Carlie Wood (Mrs. Roeder) is so excited to be back on The Empty Space stage. Some of her past credits include Helen in Carrie, Miss DeBourgh in Pride and Prejudice, and Selina Beauregard in The Lightning Thief. She would like to thank Marina (the director) for this opportunity. She is so excited to be part of telling this story! She would like to thank her friends and family, and specifically her fiancé Tanner for always supporting her.
Nikki Flowers(Sob Sister) is happy to be returning to the Empty Space stage! Her past credits include The Children’s Hour (Helen), Dance Nation (Sophia) and Our Dear Dead Druglord (Squeeze). She’d like to thank her director for giving her this opportunity and she’d like to thank her friends and family for their constant support. And a special call-out to Pop n’ Lock for missing the show.
David Guillen (Reporter/Knef/Lovesick Cowboy/Tom Understudy) is elated to be back at the Empty Space! He was previously seen as Lord Havemercy/ Ensemble in Dracula a Comedy of Terrors and as Fred in the Christmas Carol! When he's not busy acting he's usually listening to music, making punk patches, or hanging with friends. He would like to thank all his friends and the crew at the Empty Space for giving him a wonderful opportunity to fulfill his of dream acting! Enjoy the show!
Loe Eoff (Harriet/Ensemble) is excited to kick off the new year back at The Empty Space! She previously appeared in The Earth is Flat, Luchadora, and Andy the Creator at TES, and her most recent credit was Margaret/Ensemble in 9 to 5 at CSUB. Loe is a CSUB senior planning to become an elementary teacher after graduation. As always, she thanks her friends and family for their love and support.
Clarianne Righetti (Amelia/Grace Understudy) is super excited to be back at the Empty Space! Some of her recent roles include Demeter (Cats the musical), Featured Dancer (Chess), ensemble/daughter understudy (Fiddler on the Roof), and Charlotte Lucas (Pride and Prejudice). Outside of theatre, Clarianne is a full time freelance digital creator. She would like to thank the production team for including her in their vision!
Mackenzie Flores (Hazel/Ensemble) is honored to be apart of another amazing Empty Space Production. Her on credits include Hannah (Luchadora) and Wig Designer/Backstage help (The Scarlet Pimpernel).
Kayleigh Peaker (MacNeil/Mrs. Fryer/Costumer) is a local elementary educator and currently serves on The Empty Space Board of Directors as the Technical Director of Costuming. You may have most recently seen her as Mrs. Bennet in Pride & Prejudice, Mistress Quickly in Merry Wives of Windsor, and several roles in A Christmas Carol at The Empty Space last year. Favorite past performances include Mae (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Marcy (Dog Sees God), and A Company of Wayward Saints all also at The Empty Space. Andrew Cardenas (Photographer/Male Shopper/Board Member) is excited to be doing his first show at The Empty Space! He recently took on his first show as Nick Carraway in “The Great Gatsby” at Centennial High school, and is currently Rolf Gruber in the upcoming production of “The Sound of Music” also at Centennial. He would like to thank his director, Marina Gradowitz for giving him the opportunity to do his first show outside of school, and is excited to gain more acting experience!
Sophia Bertram (Mrs. Michaels/Ensemble) is grateful to be part of Radium Girls, a powerful and timely story that honors resilience, courage, and the fight for justice. She recently appeared at The Empty Space as Fred’s Wife/Ensemble in A Christmas Carol and was previously seen as Kitty/Ensemble in Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. Additional credits include Professor Porter & Ensemble (Tarzan), Sophie (Country House), and Urchin & Ensemble (Little Shop of Horrors). When not onstage, Sophia enjoys writing songs, playing with her band, and gaming. She sends heartfelt thanks to her family, boyfriend, and friends for their unwavering love and support.
Jayden Kimber (Clerk/Store Owner/Irene Understudy) is thrilled to make her Empty Space debut in Radium Girls. She was recently seen as part of the ensemble in Mary Poppins and Sweeney Todd at the Ovation Theatre as well as Racetrack in Newsies at Bakersfield Christian High School. Marilyn Robles (Shop Girl/Widow/Kathryn Understudy) is beyond excited to be back on TES stage for the production of Radium Girls! Marilyn took on a variety of roles in her high school years, some her favorites include: Carla (In The Hights), Siobhan (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time), and Tracy Turnblad (Hairspray). She also previously appeared in Luchadora at TES. When Marilyn isn’t on stage acting or going around town to sing at parties, she can be found blasting music in her room, buying more junk for her expansive trinket collection, or playing a concerning amount of The Sims 4. Marilyn sends lots of love and gratitude to her amazing family, especially her amazing great grandmother, for always supporting and encouraging to follow her dreams and passions.
Jorge Morales (Production Assistant) (he/him) is very excited to be a part of Radium Girls! You may have last seen Jorge as “WEBSTER” in “Andy, The Creator” or as “Ted” in “Peter and The Starcatcher”, both at TES. When Jorge isn’t helping with a production, he’ll spend his time writing, such as adapting “Zorro” at Mira Monte for their March show, “Zorro: Behind The Mask” or various other creative endeavors both online and in-person. He would like to thank his girlfriend, Lily, for supporting him through all his crazy shenanigans, his friends and family for their ongoing support, the Radium Girls creative team, and Marina Gradowitz, for allowing him an opportunity to be a part of Radium Girls and for being a great friend!
Liz Bomar (Assistant Director) is radiating with joy to be a part of Radium Girls! She currently servers as a Director-at-Large on The Empty Space Board of Directors. Although Liz has recently been working backstage at TES, you may recognize her as Tzeitel from Fiddler on the Roof or from the ensemble of Mary Poppins both at Ovation Theater. She’d like to give a big thank you to her best friend and colleague, Marina, for bringing her into the team, the rest of the production team for being the best team to create with, and the cast for lending us their talent to tell this story. Liz would also like to thank her partner, Connor, and roommate, Sal, for always being the best support system outside of the process. Lastly, thank YOU for coming out to support local theater!
