The Empty Space Gallery is seeking youth artists for:
Kaleidoscope Kids, A Youth Art Show and Art Contest

Kaleidoscope Kids is an exhibit of unique art by various youth artists using multiple mediums.

Eligibility- Ages 5-14 years old with signed parental consent.

Registration- Parents or guardians may register using the form below, or in person upon art drop on 5/10/26. The deadline for registration is 5/10/26. If a teacher or friend is delivering art, please have the registration form already filled out online. Registration is free.

Medium- We are accepting all mediums

Preparation of work- All work must be completed with hanging hardware. Acceptable hardware includes a saw-tooth hanger, or a wire hanger. If a canvas is unframed, edges of canvas must be painted. All work must be labeled on the back with the name of the child, and title of the piece.

Delivery of work- All work must be delivered on Sunday, May 10, 2026 from 11 AM to 2 PM at The Empty Space. If other delivery dates and arrangements need to be made, contact tesartgallery@gmail.com. Deadline for all artwork is May 10, 2026.

Sales- No artwork will be for sale. 

Prizes- The Empty Space Gallery will choose 3 winners to receive a $25 Michael’s Craft Stores gift card. Additional prizes may be included if the Bakersfield community and Empty Space community donate items. Winners will be announced at the artists’ reception on 6/6/26.

Show Dates- Kaleidoscope Kids will be on display from Friday, May 22 through June 6, 2026 at The Empty Space Gallery located at 5417 Woodmere Dr, Bakersfield CA, 93313. The reception for this exhibit will be held on Saturday, June 6  2026, from 1 PM to 3 PM.
