The Empty Space

The Empty Space is Setting Theatre Free for the community of Bakersfield. We provide quality live theatre and create opportunites for local actors, directors and technicans to work in a creatively stimulating environment.

We are looking for people who believe in the importance of art and a space that promotes freedom of creative expression.

We have no paid positions at The Empty Space. Our theatre depends on solely the commitment and passion of our volunteers.

By enrolling as a member you contribute to the success of an organization that is commited to bringing free theatre to anyone of the Bakersfield community, regardless of their finiacial situation.

Membership Levels:

GROUNDLING: For your donation of $50-$99, join the GROUNDLING level and have your name listed on our Members Wall and in our programs. Also, enjoy two complimentary passes to an Empty Space Productions late night event.

THESPIAN: Join the THESPIAN level with a donation of $100-$249 and have your name listed on our Members Wall and in our programs. Also, enjoy two complimentary passes to an Empty Space Productions late night event, one ticket to a gala event* and an Empty Space t-shirt.

BARD: For your donation of $250-$499 join the BARD level and have your name listed on our Members Wall and in our programs. Also, enjoy two complimentary passes to an Empty Space Productions late night event, two tickets to a gala event*, VIP seating and refreshments for two (with reservation) at any of our productions, and an Empty Space t-shirt.

MONARCH: Join the MONARCH level with a donation of $500-$999 and have your name listed on our Members Wall and in our programs. Also, enjoy two complimentary passes to an Empty Space Productions late night event, two tickets to a gala event*, VIP seating and refreshments for two (with reservation) at any of our productions, two tickets to our annual Emtpy Space Awards Banquet, and an Empty Space t-shirt.

*There are typically 3-4 gala events per year.
